Craving a sinfully good burger: The Daily Grind

Hi there refined eaters, our next stop is a wonderful ending to what might be quiet an adventure through the hustle and bustle of crowded and heavy jammed Bangsar in Kuala Lumpur.  The Daily Grind turns out to be an ideal refuge away from the crowd of shoppers, visitors and professionals.

Located on the lower ground floor of Bangsar Village, its brick-themed interior gives you that earthy feeling that you have just been back to the country side while you're still right in the heart of modernity and industrialism.  If you have, like me, been craving an original home made burger pattie, you got no choice but to try their burgers.  The name is not just a cheesy generic title, it is merely a simple description of what they actually do to their meats.  Well yeah!! You guessed it right, they grind their meat on premise, as are their sauces, pickles and ice-cream are also homemade.

My favorites are numerous but I do like to indulge in their Chermoula Avocado Burger.  Yes, I know I'm biased, just say Chermoula and I remember my mom's cooking, and throw in Avocado with that and you got my mouth wide opened.  Then if, your desire is sinful as to go for the rough deliciousness of strong cheeses, indulge in their blue cheese beef burger.  It'll definitely tingle those taste buds of yours without giving you that aftertaste we all usually despise from a badly done burger.

Their salads and soups are not bad at all, in fact they do complement the meat works very pleasantly.

Dessert?  Ohh well, stay earthy, go wild and adventurous and try their multilayered cake.  I was so skeptical at first when I saw it at the next table, nonetheless my curious and experimenting nature got the best of me and I don't regret a single bit of my indulgence.  Be careful, it risks to make you forget about the burgers.  What?!! Naaaaaahhhhh!!! I'll still relive the experience all over again.

Well I hope you will enjoy your own experience as I have, few times :).  Ohhh! Please do me a favor, the meat is genuinely fresh, so show the burgers respect by not killing them further! A burger well done can never do itself the justice it deserves.

I have been craving an authentic, untamed and unmessed with country style burger ever since New York City.  I am just glad now I found a destination for my fresh meat indulgence.  So thank you The Daily Grind and please keep them burgers fresh.

Hi there, The Daily Grind, please Book Table 4 Me :), I'll be there again shortly!

First Stop: 7atenine Kuala Lumpur

Good Afternoon, thank you for calling 7atenine, how may I help you?

My dear readers, it has been a long time since my first post.  Here I am back again and without further delay, let's resume our out and about journey through the Dine & Wine Scene of Kuala Lumpur.
Our first stop will be one of my favorite places to head to in the city; 7atenine KL.  If you're usually confused and undecided like me as to where to spend your evening then your night before you head back home.  This beautiful spot right in the heart of the city solves that dilemma for you.

A simple way to do it as I do, is to book your dinner reservation for a fine dining, yet relaxed experience up at their mezzanine level and enjoy some delectable food, then head down the stairs later for some exquisitely unique cocktails while you listen to some eclectic tunes live by their great DJ's.

I recently had the experience of celebrating a birthday there with a group of friends.  The 3-course dinner was fantastic, the wine selections were exceptional and the service was not only prompt but friendly and superbly helpful and accomodating.

After dinner we moved down to a wonderful sofa setting, in a very hot night, as usual in this wonderful city, the powerful aircon unit around us, made us feel very comfortable and then the real fun began.  We ordered this unique Magnum Champagne package that was filled with drinks, more food, and fun.  But the best part was the Magnum Bottle presented with sparklers in this golden cage with a lock.  It was phenomenal.

To our fortune that night, there was a guest international DJ performing and the music was wonderful and we managed to do some dancing.  It was night to definitely remember.

It would definitely be worth it to visit their Kuala Lumpur Website and check out what they have got to offer.

Until our next stop, have fun in KL

New critic in town

After almost a lifetime in New York City, I found a new home in Kuala Lumpur or as "we" locals call it KL.
In New York City I indulged in many delicacies and spoiled my taste buds to the core. After all, we New Yorkers live out of restaurants. Ironically, in my case, that stretched out to two ends.
As a consumer, just like the rest of us, I rarely found myself stirring and sizzling in my own kitchen although whenever on the rare occasion I found cooking at home therapeutic. I could comfortably say that there probably isn't a hole in the wall in or around New York City that I haven't been to. Their knives, Forks or Chopsticks can vouch for me.
On the other end, my passion for food and hospitality was my life and career. I have been for many years managing and directing operations of some well esteemed food establishements in the Big Apple.
In the light of my numerous experiences, I will be glad to provide KL'ites and KL Visitors with as much information and feedback as possible about the Dine & Out Life in this big city.

So without further due, let's make our dinner reservation.
Good Afternoon,
Thank you for calling Book Table 4 Me. How may I help you?
